Beaver Ridge Resort in Canaan Valley, WV

This website, concerning the BEAVER RIDGE HOA in Davis, WV, was created many years ago by an owner trying to raise awareness about serious internal issues. That material was permanently removed when I purchased the domain in 2024.

As someone living next to the complex, my contribution to the old site was an article on stalking and harassment. Although not as vulnerable as those inside the complex, my family was targeted by the HOA president with malicious behavior ranging from physical bullying outside our windows to intimidation at our workplace.

That article was never published. However each member of BEAVER RIDGE was made aware of inappropriate conduct on their property in their name, including privacy and safety concerns involving children.

Unchecked, this obsession with making our lives difficult became more aggressive. Eventually, a line was crossed. A year later, I was told that this council member had resigned. Thinking the problems were over, I decided to buy and remove this site as a goodwill gesture.

Inexplicably, this man is now back in charge at BEAVER RIDGE, and I regret not being as forceful or explicit as I could have been in making my case to be left alone. I also should have insisted on a formal resolution with the other members.

But it has been two years since we’ve seen him outside our home or detected any effort to bother us. It could be that he is attempting to pursue a meaningful life beyond being a deliberate nuisance or threat to people who do not want him in theirs.

In the hope that this works out for him, I am opting not to publish names or details regarding my family's experience. However, after a decade of targeted harassment, I have zero tolerance for anything more. This means that:

  1. We do not see this man outside our windows again

  2. The HOA does nothing to provoke or negatively impact adjoining property owners and there are no further injuries

  3. Pictures of my family and any images of children on my property taken by BEAVER RIDGE are never found in the public arena nor disseminated in any form – even internally between members

This isn’t a high bar. If the HOA assures me in writing that these activities will not be tolerated in the future, I’ll be happy to take down what remains of this site. Based on current leadership, I suspect this won't happen, but we'll see.

Regardless, I consider this to be over. If BEAVER RIDGE does not, and any part of this starts up again, then it will be dealt with much differently – and it won’t be resolved until other members get involved.

Each member of BEAVER RIDGE was notified
in writing about inappropriate conduct.

If you were in their position, would you act responsibly or would you ignore or
make excuses for abusive behavior, as long as it happens to someone else?
