Cost of Ownership:

Liability and Insurance

The Beaver Ridge board is accused of taking chances with other people's money and safety.  Financial loss and risk of physical injury is knowingly imposed on others (and their children), sometimes as a punitive measure.  Attempts to notify the master policy provider of such highly unusual behavior on the part of an insured party have been openly obstructed by the board.

This is not only unethical, in our opinion, but also means a chance of higher insurance premiums or civil judgment in the future.  At least one injury victim describes the community as a "lawsuit waiting to happen."  The board's history of maintaining safety hazards even after reported injuries - along with validation by the general membership via inaction - could make such a lawsuit difficult to defend.
